Laser Hybrid welding

Laser-MIG or MAG hybrid welding is a technology which combines a special head of laser beam (YAG or CO2) to a conventional electric type of TIG or MIG-MAG.

This process combines the advantages of laser welding and those of arc welding are combined in this technology. Indeed, the combination of these two processes allows a better stability, productivity and quality of weld is better.

By injecting less heat in the workpieces, the welding alters less the mechanical proprieties of metal for the same strength of the joint.

It also means less residual stress and stays closer to theoretical dimensions as they are less distorted.

However, it needs to adjust many parameters for an optimum process.
